A Passionate Dog Trainer and Computer Science Enthusiast
Since joining Philly Unleashed in July 2022, Aaron Jefferson has rapidly evolved from an eager student to a proficient dog trainer. His journey began with assisting in puppy kindergarten, obedience 1 and 2 classes, leveraging his experience with his beloved Dalmatian, Pit, Pointer, Retriever mix, Atlas. By October 2022, Aaron expanded his expertise to include board and train sessions at Philly Unleashed’s farm location, coupled with dog walking services. His recent foray into teaching classes and offering private lessons marks a significant milestone in his growing career.
Aaron’s specialization lies in training high-energy dogs, honing skills in basic obedience, trick training, noise phobia management, and animal husbandry tasks for grooming and veterinary handling. His inventive approach extends to teaching dogs unique skills like using speaking buttons, wearing goggles, motorcycle riding, backpacking, and harnessing for climbing. His methods are LIMA compliant, adhering to CPDT-KA standards and BAT 2.0 principles.
A CPDT-KA certified trainer (valid from Oct 2023 to Dec 2026), Aaron is on the verge of becoming an active member of the APDT. His quest for knowledge led him to complete the LS200 Noise Sensitivity course at Fenzi Dog Sports Academy and the Stop Pulling course at Grisha Stewart Academy.
Balancing his love for dogs with academic pursuits, Aaron is a computer science student at Temple University. As an active member of the math club and a former member of the Temple Artificial General Intelligence team (TAGIT), he blends analytical thinking with his training methodologies.
Aaron’s life is a tapestry of adventures with his dog, Atlas. From backpacking to motorcycle trips, they explore diverse landscapes, showcasing Aaron’s commitment to a lifestyle that harmoniously blends his professional and personal passions. His journey with dogs began in 4th grade with a lab, fostering a deep-rooted love for animals through experiences with various breeds, culminating in the adoption of Atlas.
