Biography

Peet specializes in helping reactive dogs and the people who love them. Over the years, he has become one of Philadelphia’s most sought-after trainers for dogs struggling with leash reactivity, fear, frustration, and big feelings about the world around them. As the lead instructor for our Dogs With Attitude Workshop, Peet spends much of his time helping owners transform stressful walks into opportunities for communication, confidence, and connection.
Known for his calm demeanor and exceptional ability to connect with both dogs and their people, Peet has a gift for making even the most overwhelming behavior challenges feel manageable. Many of his clients arrive feeling discouraged, frustrated, or convinced that their dog is beyond help. Through thoughtful coaching, careful observation, and a deep understanding of behavior, Peet helps families rediscover what’s possible with their dogs and build confidence in their ability to move forward together.
One of the most knowledgeable trainers on the Philly Unleashed team, Peet is also one of its most dedicated students. A relentless learner, he pursues every continuing education opportunity he can find and stays current with the latest developments in behavior science and dog training. His thoughtful, analytical approach allows him to blend the most up-to-date research with practical, real-world solutions that work for busy families and complex dogs alike.
Growing up in northern New Jersey, Peet’s home always included at least one dog. Today, he shares his South Jersey home with three dogs and two cats, including several animals with special needs. Learning how to train and advocate for his own dogs sparked a passion for behavior and training that ultimately led him to enroll in the CATCH Dog Trainer Academy. He joined the Philly Unleashed team as a FarmCamp trainer, earned his CPDT-KA certification, and quickly established himself as one of the city’s leading resources for reactivity and behavior modification.
