Jennifer Carlton, CPDT-KA

Biography

Jennifer’s unique connection with animals first developed with her antisocial childhood cat, CJ. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from Goucher College in 2012. Jennifer worked as a video editor in New York City for three years. But when her wife got a job offer in New Orleans in 2015, she decided to indulge in her love of animals. At a daycare, she learned dog body language and handling. Since then, she has provided canine care in several different capacities, from physical therapy to veterinary medicine to large off-leash playgroups. Time spent as a dog walker was particularly enjoyable for her because it allowed her to add stimulation and adventure to a dog’s mundane day while their humans were away.

In 2019 Jennifer joined the Philly Unleashed team as a Farmcamp Trainer. She is delighted to now also offer behavior walks in the city, where she can bring the stress-free behavior modifications from the farm to a dog’s home environment. She has a knack for befriending a timid dog that needs some encouragement coming out of their shell.

When not smiling at every dog she sees, Jennifer bikes around the city, unnecessarily analyzes prestige television and snuggles with her three cats and lab mix, Penny Shay.
