Biography

Karen is the kind of trainer who makes both dogs and people excited to learn. Known for her infectious energy, quick sense of humor, and ability to connect with just about anyone, Karen has become a favorite among clients and coworkers alike.
As the manager of Philly Unleashed’s Board & Train program, Karen she brings enthusiasm, creativity, and confidence to everything she does. She has a particular passion for trick training, canine fitness, and helping active dogs channel their energy into productive outlets. Her training style combines clear communication, practical skills, and plenty of fun, helping dogs and their owners build stronger relationships while achieving real results.
A South Jersey native, Karen has been passionate about animals for as long as she can remember. Growing up around German Shepherds, rescue dogs, and a wide variety of animals, she developed an early appreciation for training and animal care. Her professional journey into dog training began in 2018 when she joined Philly Unleashed as a FarmCamp trainer and enrolled in the CATCH Dog Trainer Academy.
When she’s not training dogs, Karen is usually playing a sport. A devoted Philadelphia sports fan, she proudly—and enthusiastically—educates the rest of the staff on which teams play with which ball. She regularly plays ice hockey, ball hockey, and soccer, and brings the same competitive energy to her hobbies that she brings to dog training.
Karen lives with her Australian Shepherd, Teemu. Whether she’s on the ice, on the field, or working with dogs, she’s rarely sitting still for long.
