Biography

Aaron specializes in helping high-energy dogs develop the skills they need to succeed in everyday life. Whether he’s teaching impulse control, building foundational obedience, working through noise sensitivities, or introducing dogs to entirely new experiences, Aaron brings equal parts curiosity, creativity, and enthusiasm to every lesson.
A self-described science nerd, Aaron is fascinated by the “why” behind behavior. He loves diving into the details of learning theory, behavior modification, and canine cognition, and he’s constantly seeking out new opportunities to expand his knowledge. Aaron has a knack for breaking complex behaviors into manageable pieces and helping owners understand how dogs learn. If you’re curious about the science behind your dog’s behavior, Aaron is always happy to explain it—sometimes in far more detail than you asked for. His analytical approach and upbeat teaching style make training both effective and fun for dogs and their people.
Aaron joined Philly Unleashed in 2022 and quickly grew from an eager student assisting in group classes to a CPDT-KA certified trainer teaching classes, private lessons, and working with dogs in a variety of training settings. Over the years, he has developed a particular interest in helping dogs learn self-control, confidence, and practical life skills that make living together easier and more enjoyable.
His passion for training extends well beyond traditional obedience. Aaron enjoys exploring creative enrichment and teaching dogs unique skills, from cooperative care and husbandry behaviors to using communication buttons, wearing goggles, backpacking, and other adventures that strengthen the bond between dogs and their people. His training follows LIMA principles and is informed by continuing education through organizations including Fenzi Dog Sports Academy and Grisha Stewart Academy.
When he’s not training dogs, Aaron is usually learning something new. A computer science student at Temple University, he enjoys applying the same curiosity and problem-solving skills that make him a successful trainer to academics, technology, and mathematics.
Aaron shares many of his adventures with his dog, Atlas, a Dalmatian-Pit Bull-Pointer-Retriever mix who has been both his greatest teacher and most enthusiastic training partner. Whether they’re backpacking, exploring new trails, or trying out a new training project, Aaron and Atlas are usually finding creative ways to learn together.
