Biography
Erin has loved animals their entire life. As a self-proclaimed early riser, they fondly recall mornings spent eating cereal in front of the TV, watching Animal Planet shows like Animal Cops, which sparked their empathy for animals and deep understanding of the love and care they deserve.
Growing up in Bucks County, Erin was the go-to pet sitter for family, friends, and the community. They had a beloved family dog (a Wheaten Cockapoo) and cared for many others including birds, cats, and even hamsters!
While Erin initially pursued a career in medicine, earning an associate degree from Bucks County Community College and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh, their heart kept leading them back to animals. After working as a medical scribe in a local emergency department, Erin rediscovered their passion for pets, starting as a dog walker, transitioning to overnight pet sitting, and now thriving as a trainer.
This year, Erin passed the CPDT-KA certification and is stepping into a lead role after working as an assistant trainer with Philly Unleashed for the past year. You’ll see Erin teaching more and more classes, bringing their enthusiasm and expertise to help dogs and their owners build strong, loving bonds.
Erin is especially drawn to Puppy Kindergarten, obedience, and Canine Good Citizen classes and has a soft spot for shy, anxious, and rescued pups. They find it incredibly rewarding to help dogs learn to trust and receive the love and devotion they may have missed out on in the past.
Philly Unleashed is thrilled to have Erin continuing to grow with the team and share their dedication and compassion in every training session!
