Biography
Elsie Murrell grew up in Pittsburgh but made the move to Philadelphia in 2018 to attend Temple University. While in school, she took a job at a busy doggy daycare, where she quickly realized that her true calling wasn’t in the classroom—it was working with dogs. A lifelong dog lover, Elsie discovered she had a natural talent for reading canine body language and communicating behavior concepts in a way that made sense to both dogs and their owners.
In 2023, Elsie joined Philly Unleashed as a FarmCamp trainer, where she enjoys helping dogs build confidence and resilience in a structured environment. While she’s well-versed in obedience and reactivity training, Elsie’s background as a classically trained ballerina gives her a unique edge in canine sports and fitness. She has a knack for breaking down movement patterns and developing training plans that keep dogs engaged, active, and thriving.
Elsie is currently preparing for her CPDT-KA exam, which she plans to take this fall. When she’s not training dogs, you can find her taking open classes at the Rock School in Philly, or treasure hunting at one of the area’s thrift stores.
