Biography
Cecilia Ferneborg has always had two passions: animals and music. As a dog trainer, she is compassionate, creative, and motivated to strengthen the bond between you and your canine companion!
Cecilia was born and raised in the Swedish countryside and moved to Philadelphia in 2010. After pursuing a degree in Jazz Vocal Performance from Temple University, Cecilia decided to combine her two interests and split her time between dogs and music. She began volunteering and fostering dogs with local animal shelters and wanted to find a way to continue helping dogs beyond the shelter. She became a dog trainer in 2021 and has been working for Philly Unleashed as a Farmcamp Trainer, private lesson instructor, and in group classes. In 2022 she took over the role as General Operations Manager here at Philly Unleashed, so if you’ve reached out to us by email, chances are you’ve talked to her!
Cecilia especially loves working with reactive dogs, trick training, and game-based learning. Her goal is to facilitate better two-way communication between dogs and humans. Cecilia is also experienced working with deaf dogs.
Cecilia lives with her dogs Arrow and Ernest, and her cat Ziggy. When she is not training dogs or performing as a singer-songwriter, she is spending time in the woods or writing songs on her vintage keyboard. You run into her on a hiking trail with her dogs on any given day!
