Emily Kane, CPDT-KA

Biography

Emily Kane joined Philly Unleashed in the summer of 2019 after five years as an assistant trainer at Pets in Motion in Wayne, PA.

Emily began her dog training journey as a student at CATCH Canine Trainers Academy, where she completed coursework in positive reinforcement training methods, animal behavior analysis, and dog handling skills. While attending CATCH, Emily volunteered at the Delaware County SPCA (now Providence Animal Center) and worked with dogs of all shapes and sizes on basic obedience commands and kennel presence.

Emily is passionate about creating a fun environment for both owners and dogs, and firmly believes that every dog can be a training rockstar when they are set up for success. In addition to her dog training work, Emily is a Senior Program Manager at a local nonprofit. She also sings as a soprano in the Mendelssohn Club of Philadelphia, and lives in West Philadelphia with her fiance and their clicker-trained cat, Dot.

What People Are Saying

“I really liked the structure of the symposium. It was helpful to start out with background info and then 15 min catch-ups were enough to ask any questions I had. The spreadsheet was definitely the structure I needed!”

“Emily was great to work with! Making my own protocols every week made me feel confident that I could continue to do it after the course finished. Having the one on one time to talk about my dog’s specific behaviors/triggers/progress was so valuable! I liked having the group chat as well to share advice/wins/struggles and ask questions.”

“Philly Unleashed’s Separation Anxiety Symposium was the push I needed to start tackling my dog’s separation anxiety. Separation anxiety can be overwhelming and it was extremely helpful to have weekly 1:1 guidance to refine practice sessions and ask questions. It was also great to have the group’s support to bounce ideas off of and know you’re not going through this process alone.”
